Humulene, also known as Alpha Humulene, is the terpene that gives cannabis an earthy, woody aroma, and is often found in beer.
Taste and Aroma
If you’re familiar with craft beer, then you’re most likely familiar with Humulene. Humulene is a naturally occurring terpene giving plants a woodsy smell and food and drink a more bitter taste, think that ‘hoppy’ taste in your favorite microbrew.
Anti-inflammatory and Anti-pain: Evidence suggests that humulene can lower inflammation and even soothe aches and pain.
Anti-cancer: Tests show that humulene has the ability to combat and even kill cancer cells.
Anti-bacterial: Studies show that humulene can repel and even kill harmful bacteria.
Appetite-suppressant: Unlike the stereotypical effect of cannabis (i.e. the ‘munchies), humulene has shown to decrease appetite.
